“Like I said, your modern definition of love pales in comparison to mine. Love, real love, when you cherish the soul of another above your own, whether it’s family, friend, or lover, that bond is difficult to sever.” – Mack by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

The next book in Mimi Jean Pamfiloff’s King series, fans have been clamoring for Mack since we were introduced to his character. Mack’s story is intertwined with his brother King’s own dark and tortured existence – of course his story is just as twisted and painful. A life of immortal length sees a great deal of death, and the man at its center delivered as much heartache as he received. Wearied by his own repetitive deaths and the exhausting struggle back to reality which follows, Mack is determined to make this his last death. In his quest for a final ending, Mack seeks out the one being he is certain can offer him respite…the light to his darkness.
Theodora, or “Teddi” was a child prodigy who has obtained a doctorate in psychology. Despite her many advancements, she remains unable to resolve the reason behind her inability to feel. Teddi does not experience emotions and thinks that true life has managed to elude her thus far. When her new job delivers a problem patient that sets her heart beating and causes sudden emotional explosions, she knows she must focus on helping John Doe. What’s a little curse to a girl on a mission, anyhow?
The King series is such a powerfully moving work that you definitely want to check it out – you can find my review here. Mack is equally strong in its dark emotion and paranormal curiosity, but I feel that its intricacies are more appreciated with the background of King’s story because it places Mack for the reader. At 262 pages, it is slightly shorter than a regular length novel, but Mimi packs in a lot of action and historical background for the main characters.
Mimi Jean Pamfiloff is a New York Times & USA Todaybestselling author of Paranormal and Contemporary Romance. Both traditionally and independently published, Mimi has sold over 700,000 books since publishing her 1st title in 2012, and she plans to spontaneously combust once she hits the one-million mark. Although she obtained her international MBA and worked for over 15 years in the corporate world, she believes that it’s never too late to come out of the romance-closet and follow your dreams.
When not screaming at her computer or hosting her very inappropriate radio show, (Man Candy on Radioslot.com!), Mimi spends time with her two pirates in training, her loco-for-the-chili-pepper hubby, and rat terriers, Mini & DJ Princess Snowflake, in the San Francisco Bay Area.
She continues to hope that her books will inspire a leather pants comeback (for men) and that she might make you laugh when you need it most.
