Ironheart by Nico Rosso

“We really learn our mettle standing at the gates of hell, knowing we can walk away but busting in anyway.” – Ironheart by Nico Rosso

This was my first superhero romance read and my first Nico Rosso read.  The writer’s voice has a definite male flavor in comparison to what I usually read, but the quality of the story as a whole was very well done.  I found that steamy hot and wantonly destructive love scenes were well balanced against heroic fighting and action.  Despite the 98 page length, the characters had an established background and the relationship progressed throughout the tale.

Vince, formerly known as “The Anvil” is just trying to live life after taking a permanent break from the hero gig.  Being impervious to damage does not mean impervious to hurt, and since Snapdragon left him despite their epic connection, life has not been the same.  When arch villain TechHead starts sending goons after Vince in the hopes of finding Snapdragon, The Anvil suddenly finds the lovely superhero back on his turf.  Will this mean the possibility of connecting again, or is it the beginning of the end for the lovers?  How many city blocks will they be able to level in less than 100 pages?

I really enjoyed this fun and steamy read and would recommend it to fans of short romance with action – the length is ideal for a read during a commute or before bedtime.
