Kill Without Mercy by Alexandra Ivy

“Why, Ms. White, are you trying to lure me into some isolated spot so you can have your wicked way with me?”  She rolled her eyes.  “I’m pretty sure I could have my wicked way with you in the middle of a shopping mall.” – Kill Without Mercy, Alexandra Ivy

Kill Without Mercy is the first book in paranormal romance author Alexandra Ivy’s newest series.  Fans familiar with her work will not be disappointed with the first book in her ARES series.  There is constant action, hunky heroes, and interesting characters.  Based around a group of former military members who were once held prisoner together in Afghanistan, the characters have come together again to start up the ARES security business.  All of the guys on the team have their own darkness that they carry with them, and I am definitely looking forward to the next book!

“A young, beautiful woman in danger.  A handsome ex-soldier who has a savior complex?”  He shook his head.  “Yeah, that doesn’t have disaster written all over it.” – Kill Without Mercy, Alexandra Ivy

Rafe is in rural Iowa to prepare his estranged grandfather’s home for sale when he runs into Annie.  The lovely young lady is obviously having some issues, and he steps in to help her out.  While he starts out with the best of intentions, Rafe is definitely interested in more from Annie – childhood trauma has left her a bit broken.  The fact that her arrival seems to coincide with what appears to be a copycat serial killer (and a relation of Annie’s) is lost on no one.  Despite the many difficulties surrounding his pursuit, Rafe is determined to have Annie.  Unfortunately, so is the killer, and he is more than happy to get rid of anyone in the way.
