“He opened his mouth to order her to drop the MP5 she had aimed at him, but nothing would come out.  It was like she’d robbed him of the ability to speak.” – In the Company of Wolves, Paige Tyler

What a great read!  I thoroughly enjoyed this paranormal romance read!  In the Company of Wolves is the author’s third book in her Special Wolf Alpha Team (SWAT) series based on wolf shifters.  In this book we meet hunky SWAT member Eric Becker and ballsy criminal/survivor Jayna Winston.  Meeting one another on opposing sides of an explosive firefight is just a taste of the chemistry happening between these two wolves.  Eric is immediately interested in what is going down with this beautiful and dangerous female wolf, but in order to find out more he has to track her down.  Jayna has to watch who she trusts because her choices will have impact far beyond her sphere of influence, and a cop is definitely not a good idea at all in her current situation.

“All I have to do is get on a computer and start violating about a hundred state and federal laws.  I should have an answer by tomorrow.” – In the Company of Wolves

Fans of shifter or paranormal romance who enjoy reading strong female leads that complement their male counterparts will appreciate this story.  While there are some references to characters from books one and two, these do not detract from the overall read and In the Company of Wolves stands alone very well.  I will say that while there are other books based on shifter teams, this one brings something a little different and the author has her very own writing style.  The characters are quite endearing, and I will definitely be buying the first two books of the series because they are fun, steamy, and action-packed.
